LA Metro Fire Academy
I participated in LA Metro Fire Academy where I went through drills that Firefighters do. I was a cadet in training being taught leadership skills and ownership. It was 8 hours half the day was spent in training and the other in class. What I took from this experience is to never let anyone put me down, try encouraging and staying positive, and its never to late.
St. Johns Clinic
During the summer before my senior year I got the chance to be an intern in St. Johns Clinic. I didn't go through training but I attended an orientation. I got the chance to build upon my clerical skills. Being surrounded with professionals gave me a sense of what the medical field is like.
